Partnership for Prescription Assistance (PPA): a partnership between several pharmaceutical companies, healthcare providers, patient advocacy groups and community groups, which aims to help qualified patients get free or reduced-cost medication. The Health Resources and Services Administration's (HRSA): offers a free search tool to find a local, federally-funded health center that treats patients on a sliding scale based on income. More information is available at hrsa.gov.  Veterans Administration (VA): a program that provides eligible veterans with medical treatment for injuries and other medical conditions related to their military service. Patient Advocate Foundation (PAF): a national organization that helps patients struggling with financial difficulties, including situations where health care providers or insurance companies are denying doctor-recommended treatment. National Cancer Information Center: a national organization that (among other benefits) helps patients with financial expenses, and also offers a database of resources that can help with medical costs and living expenses.
